Classic recipe for making oatmeal with milk

Please note an important point: to separate the required amount of ingredients, we always use the measuring cups included in the set along with the multicooker.

What you will need:

  • oatmeal flakes – 1 cup;
  • milk – 3 glasses;
  • drain butter – 50 g;
  • sugar – 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • salt.

Place a piece of butter at the bottom of the bowl, then pour oatmeal, salt, and sugar into it. Pour in milk diluted with water in a ratio of 50:50. Set it for 10 minutes in the “Porridge” mode. You can add fruits, dry or fresh, to the finished dish.

Recipe for cooking with water

Oatmeal with water in a slow cooker is perfect for those who observe fasting days or watch their figure. Of course, it will be a bit bland, but its taste can be improved by adding fruit or marmalade.

What you will need:

  • oatmeal – 1 cup;
  • water - from 3 to 5 glasses, depending on the degree of thickness of the porridge;
  • salt, sugar.

Pour the cereal into the bottom of the bowl and fill it with water. Remember that during the cooking process most of the liquid evaporates, so take care to determine the amount of water in advance. Cook in the “Porridge” mode for 10-15 minutes. Salt, sugar or fruit additives can be added to the finished dietary dish based on preference.

Oatmeal with pumpkin

To prepare 3 servings you will need:

  • oatmeal – 1 cup;
  • milk – 3 glasses;
  • pumpkin – 250 g;
  • sugar - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • cinnamon – ½ tsp. spoons;
  • drain butter – 20 g.

First of all, thoroughly wash and clean the pumpkin. You can grate it on a coarse grater or cut it into cubes depending on your preference. Pour oatmeal, sugar, and milk into a multicooker bowl. At the end we add pumpkin, cinnamon and butter. Stir so that no lumps form.

Close the lid and set the “Milk porridge” or “Cooking” mode, depending on the oven model. The higher the power, the less time it will take. Cook for 20 minutes. Add nuts to the finished dish.

With added raisins

What you will need:

  • rolled oats - 2 cups;
  • milk – 5 glasses;
  • raisins – 100 g;
  • drain butter – 20 g;
  • sugar – 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • salt.

Wash the raisins thoroughly. You can do without steaming. Then put the dried fruit along with oatmeal in the multicooker bowl, pour in the milk, and close the lid. Cook for 20-30 minutes in the “Milk porridge” mode. After the signal sounds, you need to open the lid and stir the porridge. If it seems too watery, you should warm it up a little or leave it in a closed oven for a while.

Oatmeal with oranges in a slow cooker

Oatmeal in a slow cooker with the addition of oranges is a very interesting combination that is perfect for breakfast and will give you a boost of energy for the whole day.

What you will need:

  • oatmeal or cereal – 100 g;
  • small orange – 1 pc.;
  • milk – 250 ml;
  • water – 100 ml;
  • sugar – 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • salt.

Wash the orange and remove the peel. There is no need to throw away the zest: a certain part of it is grated on a fine grater. The fruit itself is divided into slices, peeled from skins and seeds, and then cut into equal small pieces.

Place the zest along with the orange on the bottom of the bowl, add oatmeal and sugar. Then add milk and water and mix. It is necessary to cook in the “Milk porridge” mode, stirring occasionally until smooth. The result will be a very tasty dish.

Recipe with honey and nuts

This recipe is perfect for children who don’t really like to eat oatmeal for breakfast. In addition to taste, nuts and honey will add beneficial qualities to the dish, which is especially important for a growing body.

What you will need:

  • long-cooked oat flakes – 1 cup;
  • water – 2 glasses;
  • honey – 3 tbsp. spoons;
  • drain oil – 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • almonds or other nuts - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • cinnamon – ½ tbsp. spoons;
  • a pinch of salt.

Place oatmeal on the buttered bottom of the bowl and fill it with water. Then add a little salt and cinnamon. Cooking is carried out in the “Porridge” mode for 30-40 minutes. Honey is added to the finished dish. We do not add sugar, since honey will add sufficient sweetness to the porridge, otherwise it will turn out to be too cloying. We grate the nuts on a fine grater or chop them, and sprinkle the breakfast directly into the plates.

Nuances of cooking in a slow cooker: Redmont, Polaris

It is known that oatmeal will be prepared differently in different models of multicookers. This depends on the availability of functional modes in the device, the time provided for receiving dishes, power, and capacity.

How to cook quickly?

In order for the dish to be cooked in a slow cooker not only quickly, but also to be tasty, There are a few principles you should know.

  • Cook only the required number of servings. Cooking in reserve will only take longer.
  • Depending on the desired consistency of the dish, you should select oatmeal. Thus, “Hercules” flakes allow you to get a thick porridge, and “Extra” flakes make it more liquid.
  • It is better to use butter for dressing than margarine. It will also help the porridge not boil over from the multicooker. To do this, you need to lubricate the walls of the bowl.
  • In order for the porridge in the multicooker to be more tender, after finishing the process you should let it stand for 5 minutes in the “keep warm” mode.
  • If the porridge is not served immediately, it is better to leave it in the heating mode. This way it won't turn into a thick consistency.
  • Cooking a dish in a slow cooker requires more liquid than cooking on the stove. Therefore, it is worth considering the proportions of cereal and liquid in the calculation of 1: 3.
  • The model of the multicooker is also an important factor when cooking. So, cooking in a Redmond multicooker will take from 10 to 20 minutes, while the equipment itself sets the required time. For oatmeal, select the cooking mode, and then the porridge program. Some models already have a milk porridge program, and cooking will take up to 30 minutes.

There are many recipes for making oat porridge, but all of them can be roughly divided into two groups:

  1. cooking classic porridge with water or milk;
  2. preparing porridge with the addition of fruits, vegetables and dried fruits.

Porridge with water or milk can be either salty or sweet. Oatmeal using only salt will be a good side dish for meat or fish dishes. Sweet oatmeal porridge is most often eaten for breakfast.

Oatmeal with water in a slow cooker is an excellent product for those who are on a diet or fasting. This porridge is low in calories, but at the same time nutritious and contains minerals and vitamins necessary for the body.

To prepare such a dish for 2 servings you will need 1 glass of cereal, 3-4 glasses of water, 0.5-1 tsp. salt or sugar, 20 grams of butter. Cereals, sugar or salt are poured into the bottom of the multicooker bowl, depending on what kind of porridge is being prepared. Then all this is filled with water and the required mode and program is selected. After the time has expired, oil is added to the finished dish and the keep warm mode is turned on. When preparing such a dish, there are several tricks that will help you cook it faster, obtaining a delicate consistency.

  • Before cooking, the cereal should be rinsed under running warm water. The flakes will be cleared of unnecessary particles and become softer.
  • You need to immediately pour hot or boiling water over the flakes, this will speed up the cooking process several times.

One of the popular recipes with additives is porridge with apples. Depending on the variety of apples, the dish can be either sweet and sour or sweet without adding sugar.

To prepare for 4-6 servings you will need 2 cups of cereal, 6 cups of water, 2 apples and, depending on preference, 2 tbsp. l. sugar (you can do without it). Cereals and chopped apples are poured into the multicooker bowl, water is poured, salt and sugar are added to taste, and the required mode and time is set.

At the end of the process, add oil and let the porridge brew on the heating mode for 10–15 minutes.

This dish can be served for breakfast with honey, nuts or raisins. It can also be prepared using the delayed start mode. To do this, all the necessary ingredients are prepared in the evening and the required time is set. By the time you wake up, the oat product will be ready.

Porridge with pumpkin and raisins is no less healthy and unusual in taste. To prepare it you will need oatmeal (2-4 cups) depending on the portions, water, 300-350 grams of pumpkin pulp, 50 g of raisins and 25 g of butter, salt and sugar to taste. The pumpkin pulp should be cut into small pieces and placed on the bottom of the bowl. Then add water and set the “porridge” program for 20–30 minutes. After 10 minutes, cereal, salt and sugar are added.

5 minutes before readiness, add butter and raisins. Before using, let the dish sit in the slow cooker for 3-5 minutes. If you plan to consume the porridge not immediately, then it is better to use the heating mode. This will result in a hot and more tender porridge.

Porridge with oranges will help you get not only vitamins, but also a boost of energy. In order to cook such a dish, you will need 100–150 g of cereal, 1 large or 2 small oranges, 200–300 ml water, 1 tbsp sugar. l. and salt 0.5 tsp.

Before cooking, the orange should be thoroughly washed and peeled. The zest should not be thrown away, as it will impart a more pronounced orange flavor to the porridge. The orange should be divided into slices and peeled and pitted, then cut into small pieces. The zest must be grated on a fine grater and poured onto the bottom of the multicooker. Along with it are laid orange, oatmeal, sugar and salt. All ingredients are filled with water and the required mode is selected. At the end of the process, the porridge can be served immediately and not kept in the “warm” mode.

Porridge with nuts and honey will appeal not only to adults, but also to children.

To prepare this dish you will need:

  • oat flakes 250 g, it is better to choose the Hercules brand;
  • water 500 ml;
  • honey 2–3 tbsp. l.;
  • butter 25 g;
  • nuts to taste (walnuts, peanuts, almonds) 2 tbsp. l.;
  • salt 0.5 tsp;
  • cinnamon 0.5 tsp. optional.

The bottom of the bowl should be greased with butter, then the cereal is poured in and water is poured. At the same stage, salt and cinnamon or other spices are added. After this, the required mode and cooking time of 20–30 minutes are selected. During cooking, the porridge should be stirred constantly. After the porridge is cooked, honey and chopped nuts are added to it. They can also be added 5-10 minutes before readiness.

Video recipes

Video recipes will help beginners in the kitchen cook oatmeal in a slow cooker correctly and tasty:

I am for classic and healthy breakfasts. But getting up early in the morning to prepare is a whole problem. Now my kitchen assistant has come to the rescue - a multicooker, which itself can cook breakfast at the right time. Tasty and healthy oatmeal porridge with water in a slow cooker for breakfast has become a real salvation. All you need to do is put all the ingredients into the multi-bowl the night before. Take note of my simple recipe with step-by-step photos. And may your morning always be good. 🙂

So we need:

  • oat flakes - 100 grams;
  • water - 250 grams;
  • raisins - 50 grams;
  • tangerine - 1 piece;
  • sugar - 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • honey - 2 teaspoons.

How to cook oatmeal in a slow cooker using water

We start cooking in the evening by measuring out the required amount of oatmeal. I usually do this by eye.

Pour water over the flakes so that all debris and dust float to the surface. Drain the water. Fill with new water and pour, along with the flakes, into the multi-bowl.

I put the groceries in the evening, turn on the timer, and in the morning I wake up to the aroma of ready-made healthy oatmeal porridge.

I don’t soak raisins; they will swell in water overnight. You just need to rinse the raisins with water and add them to the multibowl.

Add some sugar. For ladies who are watching their figure, you can skip the sugar and add honey in the morning and that’s it. And for those with a sweet tooth like me, adding a little sugar to the porridge won’t hurt.

Turn on the “Porridge” program on the multicooker. If we start the porridge in the evening, then turn on the delayed start for the required amount of time. If the flakes swell in water all night, then 15-20 minutes are enough for them to cook, taking into account the heating of the water.

Ready-made oatmeal may seem runny, but this is deceiving. As it cools, it will acquire a thicker structure.

All that remains is to pour the porridge into portioned plates. Peel the tangerine. Cut each slice in half and decorate the porridge. Add honey to your taste.

Such a delicious, quick and healthy breakfast will give you a boost of strength, energy, and vigor for the whole day. Oatmeal with water in a slow cooker is an ideal dish, which, moreover, does not require any preparation in the morning. Everything is fast, simple, easy and useful!

Oatmeal is one of the most unpretentious porridges. But she also demonstrates “bad behavior” in the pan. The inconvenience of cooking is the need to regularly stir the mass so that it does not burn. You should also control the intensity of the boil, because the porridge loves to “run away.” Oatmeal in a multicooker Polaris (polaris), Philips, Panasonic, Moulinex and other kitchen units will not cause these troubles. But you need to know a few nuances of its preparation.

Subtleties of cooking. How to cook porridge if it is uncrushed

Porridge in a slow cooker in the morning is the most delicious breakfast for the whole family. It is important to use a clean slow cooker to boil the cereal. First remove the inner cover and wash the valve. These parts may retain particles from your past dishes, and when heated, they begin to release their own aroma. If you don't want your morning oatmeal to smell like yesterday's pea soup, be sure to thoroughly rinse your slow cooker.

Here are a few more secrets that will make cooking oatmeal in a slow cooker hassle-free.

  • Don't rinse the cereal. They are immediately ready for use. Pour them into a bowl with other ingredients and turn on the multicooker.
  • Control the proportions. Cooking porridge in a “culinary assistant” requires more liquid than cooking in a saucepan, since the porridge completely swells. The minimum liquid volume is 4 multi-cups per cup of cereal. In this proportion the porridge will be moderately thick. A larger volume of liquid will make it thinner.
  • Eliminate the risk of porridge running away. You do not have to wash the appliance and the table around it if you are preparing a small amount of food. However, oat porridge in a multi-cooker for breakfast for a large family can run away. To prevent this from happening, rub the butter “rim” 5 cm above the level of the ingredients.
  • Mix foods. After laying, the flakes and other ingredients must be thoroughly mixed. Use a plastic spatula for this.
  • Cook in the “Porridge” mode. Its analogues are “Milk porridge”, “Pilaf”. How long does it take to cook this porridge? In this mode, the unit maintains a temperature of 90°, and 15-20 minutes before the end of the mode it turns off the heater, allowing the mass to steam. Therefore, do not rush to turn off the multicooker before the signal, even if the cooking time is 50 minutes.
  • Use safe milk and water. Since milk oatmeal porridge is prepared in a slow cooker without boiling, the products must be initially safe. Pasteurized milk, boiled or filtered water are suitable.

Oatmeal is one of the few porridges that can be conveniently prepared in delayed start mode. You can add the ingredients in the evening. Unlike rice or buckwheat, the flakes will not swell overnight. And in the morning they will be ready at the specified time, and the porridge will have the ideal consistency.

Recipe with milk

The ideal solution for breakfast is oatmeal in a Redmond multicooker or other culinary assistant. It is tender, the coarsest flakes are cooked perfectly in it. This dish can be confidently offered to a child, and its soft consistency will delight the most picky little one. And it only takes 5 minutes to prepare the products.

You will need:

  • oat flakes - 1 cup;
  • milk (or with water 1:1) - 4 cups;
  • sugar - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • salt - ¼ teaspoon;
  • butter - 10 g;
  • cinnamon or ginger - ¼ teaspoon.

Preparation

  1. Place the cereal in a bowl, add sugar, salt, and spices. Add butter.
  2. Pour in milk, which can be diluted with water in equal proportions.
  3. Turn on the appropriate mode.
  4. Place into portioned plates immediately after the signal.

You can prepare porridge using water according to this recipe, without sugar. This way it will turn out the most delicious. To sweeten it, add honey or some dried fruit to the plate. The absence of milk fat in the dish will allow valuable fiber to carry out intensive intestinal cleansing.

Original recipes

Oatmeal porridge in a slow cooker can be original every day. There are dozens of ingredients in your arsenal with which you can easily diversify the taste of the dish. For example, it’s easy to prepare oatmeal with fruit, and you can use any: pears, apricots, peaches in the summer, apples, bananas in the winter. The taste will be no less rich with berries (frozen ones are also suitable). And of course, where can you add homemade jam: strawberry, peach, plum - if not to your ideal breakfast!

We offer you several excellent recipes for original oatmeal to add to your culinary repertoire.

With apples

In the recipe for oatmeal with apples, we use not only fresh fruits, but also apple juice. Thanks to this combination, the taste of the fruit is most pronounced.

You will need:

  • milk - 2 multi-glasses;
  • apple juice - 1 multi-glass;
  • water - 1 multi-glass;
  • sugar - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • raisins - 50 g;
  • apples - 2 large fruits;
  • cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon.

Preparation

  1. Pour hot water over the raisins and leave for 20 minutes.
  2. Peel the apples and chop.
  3. Pour water, juice, milk into the bowl, mix with sugar, bring to a boil in the “Multi-cook” mode at 160°.
  4. Add the flakes and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add apples, raisins, cinnamon. Simmer for 15 minutes.

If the multicooker does not have the “Multicook” function, you can heat liquids in the “Baking” mode, and select the “Porridge” mode to prepare cereals.

With banana

Banana oatmeal is very easy to prepare. All ingredients are simply placed in the bowl. The consistency of the fruit is so soft that it literally dissolves in the cereal. And the aroma is incomparable!

You will need:

  • oat flakes - 1 multi-cup;
  • milk - 4 multi-glasses;
  • butter - 10 g;
  • sugar - 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • banana - 1 large fruit;
  • salt - ¼ teaspoon.

Preparation

  1. Pour the cereal into a bowl, pour in the milk. Add sugar, butter and salt.
  2. Peel the banana and puree it in a blender. Add to mixture.
  3. Cook in the “Porridge” or “Milk porridge” mode.

If you cut the banana into pieces, they will retain their shape in the finished dish. We use less sugar in this recipe due to the sweetness of the healthy fruit.

With offal

A good recipe for a dish in which oatmeal is not served for breakfast. This is a complete dinner, for the preparation of which you need to use whole grain cereals, rather than cereal.

You will need:

  • oatmeal - 1 cup;
  • beef by-products (liver, heart, lung) - 300 g;
  • onion - 1 large head;
  • pepper, salt - a pinch.

Preparation

  1. Rinse and boil the cereal in the “Porridge” mode. The cooking time should be at least 50 minutes.
  2. Rinse and boil the lung and heart in a saucepan on the stove. Pass them through a meat grinder.
  3. Chop the liver, peel and chop the onion. Fry in a frying pan, season with salt and pepper. Mix with minced meat from other offal.
  4. Add the meat “dressing” to the multicooker bowl to the prepared porridge, stir, and leave in heating mode for 15 minutes.

Thanks to the use of whole grain cereals, the consistency of the dish will be crumbly. Meat ingredients make it filling and nutritious.

Only experience will tell which recipe for oatmeal in a slow cooker you like. Try to prepare each dish for both a delicious breakfast and a hearty dinner!
