Sketches about tastes and moods. Gastropub "Moments". Sketches about tastes and moods Restaurant Moments on Paveletskaya

Graduates of the culinary school Ragout and Katya Plotnikova, together with their partners, opened the Moments gastropub at Tatarskaya street, building 7, building 1.

The establishment opened on the site of the café-soup “First!”, owned by Alexander. According to him, they didn’t get it right with the narrow format: too many people came to eat soups during the day, and too few in the evening, so they decided to change the concept. We came up with the idea of opening a gastropub together with Katya, and the premises were remodeled in two weeks. The cafe is small and seats about 30 people. Instead of shelves, there are wine boxes hanging on the walls, and in the center of the room there is a large table for ten people with a massive wooden top.

Katya Plotnikova (also executive director of the Omnivore Moscow gastronomic festival) is in charge of the kitchen, and this is her first job as a chef. “It’s risky, because cooking at home in the kitchen and professionally in a restaurant are completely different things, but we believed in each other,” says Alexander. Katya is assisted by a sous chef and several line cooks. The sous-chef, by the way, used to be a foreman in the Ragout kitchen.

The cuisine at Moments is mixed: there are, for example, Israeli and Scandinavian dishes. The menu includes shakshuka (200 rubles), chicken liver pate with muscat wine (250 rubles), beef tenderloin tartare with egg-mustard sauce and red currants (450 rubles), “Lebanese salad” with cucumber, feta cheese, pomegranate, almonds and sumac (300 rubles), “Scandinavian baked potatoes” with shrimp salad (250 rubles) and a Danish-style herring sandwich (150 rubles).

The cafe's bar is taken seriously: Mikhail Slatov, who previously worked at the Belka bar, is responsible for all the cocktails. But more emphasis is still placed on wine. Prices per glass start from 190 rubles.

Breakfast at Moments is served on weekdays from 9:00, on weekends from 11:00. Lunches for 350 rubles from 12:00 to 16:00.

Gastropub Moments

Tatarskaya st., 7, building 1

Weekdays from 08:00 to 23:00,
weekends from 10:00 to 23:00

Over the weekend I went from one great meeting to another wonderful meeting, as camera-free as possible. And I was struck by such a wonderful place that I started taking pictures with my phone. It turned out terrible, but what’s more important is that they themselves are good - that’s gastropub "Moments" on Tatarskaya street 7/1, near Paveletskaya.

Tiny Tatarskaya departs from the huge Zatsepsky Val and it acutely seems that there can be nothing interesting on such a small street. I decided to go against this sharp feeling - at least I’ll see what they are like, these are “obviously uninteresting streets”.
A hundred meters later, the inscription “Fall in love with moments” looked at me from behind the glass.

Inside there are wooden tables and a bar counter filled with various little things. And I realized that it was lunch yesterday)
The menu is small and fluid, reflecting the travels and movements of the gastropub's founders. These are graduates of the Ragu culinary school Alexander Burbyga and Katya Plotnikova. (I saw Katya!))

From a sommelier's perspective: interesting bar, interesting wine list.
There are wonderful employees working behind the counter, with whom it is very pleasant to consult about what to eat or drink.

The temperature of the wine cabinet is +5, that is, the drinks are slightly overcooled. But time is clearly flowing smoothly, so they will have time to warm up and show different sides of themselves.

Some dishes on the menu are supplemented with the names and cities of residence of their authors. These are recipes brought from trips, from some distant restaurants in Israel, Denmark, somewhere else.

Here is the forshmak, which was modestly called “bomb”))
It's very, very tasty. For my taste.
What does it matter here - there are a lot of feelings of beauty. To some, the recipe seems like the best souvenir from a distant country, but to others it doesn’t. Some people want to be at work on their day off and meet friends at their workplace, but for others this seems evil. And so on. A lot of things in “Moments” coincided with my sense of beauty (and this is cooler than any individual dish).

Chicken wings and cucumber salad with poppy seeds.
Cucumbers with poppy seeds blew me away) Not even with the taste - with the idea, with its sound.

The staff here are amazingly friendly. I couldn’t figure out who the waiter was, who the bartender was, who the cook was, who the manager was. But they all approached me with pleasure and made sure that I felt good. From time to time, one of the visiting friends would come inside, whom they recognized and were happy about.

I melted, talked to a friend on what's up-e and realized that I couldn't leave without dessert and coffee.

Phrase of the day: “Let me tell you about desserts. There are two of them and they are both chocolate.”
I chose chocolate fondant. And espresso.
When the bill arrived, it turned out that this dessert was called “Chocolate Retribution”))

And everything was tasty, light, small, combined.
And I felt good (and that’s what I came for - not for food, but to feel good).
Which means we have to repeat it)
Once again, sorry for the stunted photos.

I’ll add a drop of soy sauce: I’m confused by the pressing for a large order. Everything proposed is very, very on topic and thank you. But in order to somehow stay within the budget, you just have to desperately resist.

On Tatarskaya House 7th Street there is a gastro bar called Moments.
I met this establishment three months ago, by accident. I wanted homemade food, Zhenya Vikentiev was in town with a set from Space to Land, which I had the chance to appreciate a couple of months before in St. Petersburg at my favorite EM. The Moscow land did not please with the cuisine, so I went to the set. That's where it all started. Just a visit to a set, just a table for 10 people in a small and cozy gastro bar, just a girl behind the counter with a glass of Chablis. Fell in love and disappeared for three months))))) But this is not about that, so about the restaurant:
Interior:
The bar counter is the dominant feature of the establishment, made of bricks, painted white, combined with wood, nice, several tables, a small veranda, seats 6, right on the street, but oddly cozy. Inside, different-sized light bulbs and large windows come down from everywhere, and the perception of the interior changes in a unique way, depending on the intensity of the lighting. For example, during the first kiss, when the lights were dimmed, the atmosphere was romantic, and after parting, with full illumination, it was festive)

Service:
Either it’s love right away, or screw it. Dima Borshchev works at Moments - and Dima is a star. An original waiter, jokes on the verge of falling, sprinkles jokes and quotes, creates a festive atmosphere, well done in one word.
For a casual guest, this manner of communication may seem too familiar, but on the other hand, holiday people are rare not only in Moscow, but in general. There are also silent bartenders who mix a variety of cocktails and the hostess Katya. Katya is tall, smiling blonde, very passionate about her work, interested in the opinions of guests, and cooks well))
Kitchen:
the menu is not large, appetizers, salads, soups, filet mignon, chocolate retribution, shakshuka, delicious bread. What I remember was onion soup, shrimp, shakshuka, cheesecakes, pasta, pasta, artichokes from Italy, wine, shrimp, filet mignon, wine, wine, grappa. This is roughly how a three to four hour dinner goes at the moment)
I can say three phrases about the food: the feeling of home-cooked food, not a single dish, perhaps except cheesecakes, is prepared according to classic recipes, everything is combined with wine.

Katya periodically organizes themed dinners: I attended an Italian dinner last Saturday. Pasta, pasta, prosciutto, assorted appetizers: sun-dried tomatoes, olives, artichokes, etc. The beauty of these events is not so much in the cuisine, although the food is good, but in the atmosphere of a crazy holiday. I recommend! The average bill is 1000-1200, themed dinners are around 2000.

Summary: A place where you are welcome, when they recognize you))) On the other hand, this is an original restaurant where you can come for a new gastronomic experience, it is original, which means you cannot evaluate Moments by my fierce standards))) It’s definitely worth a visit, I recommend it and WAAA !
